2014 Golden Globe Nominations: '12 Years a Slave,' 'House of Cards' & 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' [FULL LIST]

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Thursday announced the nominees for the 71st annual Golden Globes, with very few surprises.

The film categories were led by the likes of 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, with Gravity, Nebraska and Dallas Buyers Club also on top. Television saw honors for Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Downton Abbey and Modern Family, while newcomers Orange is the New Black and Brooklyn Nine-Nine also nabbed a few nods in key categories.

In music, Justin Timberlake, U2, Coldplay, Idina Menzel and Taylor Swift will vie for Best Original Song in the film bracket.

The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on Jan. 12, 2014, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
