2013 MTV VMAs Viewers' Guide

You know you want to watch the MTV VMAs this Sunday.

Kanye West returning to perform? Taylor Swift is only presenting, so she'll have plenty of free time to scheme up something if she wanted. Daft Punk possibly performing (although MTV is suggesting an "appearance" is more likely)? A rumored *NSYNC reunion? Whether you're a hardcore pop fan or not, it should be a solid night of ridiculous television. Which is the goal, right?

In addition to performers like Bruno Mars, Drake, Miley Cyrus, Macklemore and 2013 Song of Summer star Robin Thicke, MTV has even made the seating arrangements interesting to watch: Kanye West, seated next to fellow performer Justin Timberlake. What ever will they talk about? Perhaps this. Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, who just battled it out on the song charts (Perry beat Gaga in a landslide victory), side-by-side. And of course Will Smith's entire family will be seated together. Then you've got presenter A$AP Rocky next to 2 Chainz (assuming the latter stays out of jail).

There will also be appearances by Grimes (red carpet host), Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Hart, Emeli Sandé and others. DJ Cassidy will be spinning tracks between commercials.

In addition to his other nods, Timberlake is slated to receive the Video Vanguard Award, of which non other than Jimmy Fallon will present. This is also a likely moment for the rumored *NSYNC reunion to take place—should that be in the card.

VMA-nominees such as Vampire Weekend, Ellie Goulding, Zedd and Ed Sheeran are also attending, but as of press time, are not slated to officially "appear" during the ceremony.
