After more than a year of development, FX has finally given a pilot order to Donald Glover's long-awaited Atlanta project.

The comedy, which follows Glover's recent GRAMMY nominations, is expected to center around a rapper trying to make it in the music industry.

Given the actor-rapper's work under his increasingly popular Childish Gambino moniker and his Atlanta roots, the pilot should be somewhat reflective of his personal life.

As we previously mentioned, Childish Gambino is Variance's 2014 Artist of the Year.
