As Macklemore gets ready to release a new solo album, he has teamed up with Lil Yachty for a new single "Marmalade," the latest preview of the album.

Premiering the song Wednesday on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, Macklemore said he wanted to collaborate with Yachty because he's "super dope." He continued: "I've always been a fan of him. I think that he brings a new, young voice to the game and [he's] completely himself and not afraid to do him. And I just appreciate that."

Macklemore also revealed the song was cut on election night (Nov. 8) in America. He said CNN was on in the background as the "unfortunate news" began rolling in.

"Marmalade" follows his previous single "Glorious," featuring Skylar Grey. As we previously mentioned, Macklemore is making the upcoming record without longtime collaborator Ryan Lewis, as the two artists are still on good terms but just needed some creative space apart.
