Red Hot Chili Peppers are planning to release new music by September, according to the band's guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.
In a forthcoming issue of Rolling Stone (via fansite Stadium-Arcadium.com), Klinghoffer says the band is "going through post-production at the moment, but it should be out in the open soon." He also discusses the Super Bowl and his relationship with the band's former guitarist John Frusciante.
Regarding the new album, Klinghoffer explains that "it's looking like we’ll have something out around September time. I’m really looking forward to sharing new music with the world."
As Under the Gun Review points out, it's worth noting the Chili Peppers have a slight history of album delays, including with the release of their last LP, 2011's I'm With You. But perhaps new music will indeed arrive later this year.
