On Friday, JOHNNYSWIM and Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors released their second collaborative project under the Goodbye Road banner.

The four-song EP, simply titled Goodbye Road, Vol. 2, is a beautifully poignant listen, yet a notably urgent one. It follows the two acts' first Goodbye Road EP in 2018, one which was born out of and in the wake of the deadly white supremacist march and domestic terrorist attack in Charlottesville, as well as the tragic mass shooting at a music festival in Las Vegas, where 58 were killed and hundreds of others were injured.

This time, Drew Holcomb and JOHNNYSWIM's Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano wrote these new songs over a three-year period which began before the pandemic and was finished earlier this year, arguably another emotionally charged, difficult time in America, if not for society as a whole. Feelings of heartache, encouragement and pain are felt throughout the project, which is capped with an earnest cover of Stephen Foster's 1854 song "Hard Times (Come Again No More)."
