We know, we know there's a lot of new music out today! But please pause for a few moments and listen to this new project from Windser.

The singer (aka Jordan Topf) on Friday released his debut Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea EP, which includes his standout single called "Capsize," and it has us spellbound, as the Santa Cruz native reflects on a bittersweet past.

“It was 2020 when I returned to Northern California to recount the past times and make a record that reflected the nostalgia of my early life," says Topf of the new project. "You can hear the reverberations of the waves against the cliffs, the darkness in the redwoods, and the fading feeling of youth. When I was a kid growing up in Santa Cruz, my dad used to romanticize where we lived. The fog that rolls in every morning through the woods and across the glowing pacific ocean. It was a sleepy, haunting, trippy little beach town which he often described as ‘Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea.’ The memories and echoes of my past never left me.”

The song and the EP itself follow Windser's recent Macklemore collaboration "Maniac." He has since joined the Seattle rapper for a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month.

The new project is inspired by Topf's finding beauty in joyful memories and painful loss, in the littlest experiences and the life-altering events. “My parents were old hippies,” he recalls. “My dad played the guitar and my mom is a jazz piano player. My dad passed away when I was 22, so getting to play his guitar on this EP was an incredible way to honor him.”
