Eight years and a pandemic later, My Chemical Romance is really, truly back.

The band on Thursday kicked off the weekend early with their new song "The Foundations of Decay," their first since 2014. While the accompanying press photo (above) is a little less emo than fans might remember the band at their peak, it's worth noting, singer Gerard Way turned 45 last month. Nonetheless, the new song is nostalgically MCR, and a nice reward for fans who had expected them to return live before Covid-19 scrapped those plans.

While the group is hitting the road again on May 16, it hadn't been clear if we could expect new music. It's still unknown if any further music releases are in the works.

For now, enjoy.
