If you do anything with your day today, it should be listening to Jak Lizard’s new single “Ride Home”. Uplifting; optimistic; hopeful; revitalising, this track has it all.

Raised in a musically abundant household in Long Island, Jak Lizard was not short of inspiration and encouragement. His father is a guitarist, his mother a former street performer and his three older brothers all musicians, so it’s unsurprising creativity has infused into the now New York City based singer/songwriters life and career. Shaping his musical mind in a more soulful way was his love for Stevie Wonder and other soul/R&B artists, an influence that can be distinctly heard in Lizard’s music, along with trickles of other genres.

Written and recorded in collaboration with Sean Smith, Julia Zivic and Fatherdude, the new single “Ride Home” beams with sumptuous sentiment, about making it home safe and sound, whether that be physically or metaphorically. The artist explained the track is “a song dedicated to the sense of belonging that we can attach ourselves to in the darkest of times. The refrain says "keep the light on, I'm coming right home" as if to say that even in my weakest hour, there's a sense of home in my heart that I hold onto. It keeps me grounded and lets me know there's love as long as I believe in myself. A dedication to the physical and spiritual entities that make us all feel like we have made it home, safe and sound. Whether it's a front porch light being on, or a friend from far away reaching out, we all get home in different ways, and all of them are worth celebrating".

The radiant new single is the first release of his upcoming 6-track EP Young Americana which is set for release on April 13. Against a sunlit backdrop of luminous melodies is Lizard’s soulful voice, supported by a chorus of soaring harmonies and addictive beats, resulting in this glorious, feel-good track. Glistening with optimism, the artist’s positive mentality and desire to uplift others smiles through his music, both sonically and lyrically, displaying a genuine sense of unity and kindness throughout.
