Some of the most significant memories are those that are connected to music. For Romanian born singer-songwriter Edith, that noteworthy memory is singing along to The Beatles and Eric Clapton in the back of the car on the way home from school. Mesmerized by their song writing, Edith felt drawn in by their ability to arouse emotion through their narratives, which unknowingly influenced how she tells stories in her own music. The songwriter revealed, “For me, that is the most important thing I look for in music. The story it captures. The thought that my music could help someone get through a hard time, that’s what music is about, the connection between the people listening and the artist, because at the end of the day we all go through very different experiences but we all feel the same way.”

Moving to England with her parents at age 10, Edith began penning songs and learning how to play the guitar; taping her creations in her room at home. Recognising her own talent, it didn’t take long for her to expand her environment, with the independent artist recording her first song at just 14 years old at a studio in London, prompting the start of her career as a musician.

Releasing her first official EP in 2019 and a second EP a year later, the fearless pop artist has truly flourished over the past few years. Gaining momentum and some major recognition for her single “Over It”, as well as receiving a sea off attention for “No Matter What You Do” and “I Kinda Like You”, Edith is proving to be a force within her genre, even collaborating with Jonas Westling (Lady GaGa) on her upcoming 13 track album.

Written and recorded over the lockdown, the intoxicating new single “The Day We Met” is the first song off the upcoming release, which is set to drop in the coming months. Showcasing her courageous lyricism, the track details the regret of not vocalising how you truly feel in the moment, wishing you had the opportunity to relive it. Though the narrative has a wistful and melancholy sentiment, it is vibrantly contrasted by playful melodies, frolicking beats and sparkling synths, with the artist expressing, “I do think it is also a great song to dance to, even though you may wish you were with that someone, sometimes dancing the pain away is the best we can do!”
