With a new album on the horizon, Gang of Youths are heading into the weekend and new year with a new track called "In the Wake of Your Leave."

As the song's title suggests, it's an emotional cut, as is the forthcoming record, which is reflective of frontman Dave Le’aupepe's loss of his father and the associated grief process. 

"I wanted to reflect on how I became dependent on grief for solace and inspiration," says Le’aupepe. "The cycle from numbness to acceptance to yearning plays a role in my approach to grieving my dad’s death. As a result, most of the time, I feel a bit futile as a person.”

This is the latest preview of the band's album angel in realtime., which is coming Feb. 25 via Warner Records.
