We know there's a lot of new music out today. But allow us to flag Honest Men, the Texas trio whose sophomore album Field of Vision is out today.

For fans of Young the Giant and COIN, this 12-track release is an alt-pop/rock lover's paradise, telling stories of love, loss, fear and wonder in shimmering droplets. It's the perfect, polished showcase of a band which absolutely needs to be on your radar.

“A lot of life has happened between our first record and Field of Vision," says the band. "These are the songs that came out of us during that time. Our music and songwriting became less of a celebration of 'what CAN we do and say' and more of an introspective look into 'what SHOULD we do and say.' We think fans will connect with these songs in a new and profound way but above all, these songs are for us. They’re us processing love gained, love lost, beliefs redefined, the all-consuming feelings of solitude, and everything in between. Life happens! But we’re only in control of what’s in our immediate field of vision. Here’s to making the most of it.”

For the many of us stuck in a strange in-between phase of life after experiencing a whirlwind pandemic, this is kind of the perfect soundtrack.

As for Honest Men, the band is made up of frontman Seth Findley, guitarist Brooks Whitehurst and drummer Zach Solomon, who met at college in Waco, Texas. They have since relocated to Austin, where they locked themselves in the studio as the world stood still last year and wrote what would become Field of Vision.
