After a string of singles over the past few months, Dublin, Ireland artist Tommy Buckley (aka Four Nights) has released his debut EP, titled Bed.

Appropriately titled, the glowing five-song EP is a concept project, reflective of the journey of a relationship, from its thrilling first moments to its inevitable and ruinous collapse. The '80s-influenced record also takes inspiration from Variance favorites such as The 1975, LANY and Nightly.

"Although the bulk of the record was written in 2020, there are no references to the pandemic. However I will say that Four Nights wouldn’t exist had it not been for the lockdown," says Buckley. "In February 2020, I left Ireland with the intention of traveling South East Asia for a year, and with that, completely switching off from music. Only five weeks later, I was forced to come home as the world shut down. Music was the only thing I could do in an eight-week lockdown, so I bought a new mic and a midi keyboard, and began writing a new song everyday. Bed is the by-product of that period of my life."

While only five songs, the EP is a wonderful introduction to Four Nights, and the songs are certainly reflective of young love and heartbreak, something extremely relatable. And it definitely leaves us anxious for more.
