Singer, songwriter and producer WIESE (Trygve Wiese-Haugland) is the new DJ bursting out from Bergen, Norway (the hometown of Kygo and Alan Walker). His latest single “Hear Me” is the ultimate post-lockdown indulgence and breath of fresh deep-house tropical air. WIESE has an ability to create catchy, effective commercial and utterly, uplifting electro songs, combined in a cocktail of pop, deep house and EDM. The flush of positivity that runs through his music makes WIESE refreshingly, uplifting and something that you just want to submerge yourself in. The fluidity of his music makes it perfect in a range of scenarios, most definitely ones which involve dancing.

After the intensity of the pandemic, the uncertainty of the future and having a routine consisting of being trapped inside for months on end, this track is the spark we need to celebrate new times. Co-produced by Conner Edmunds, this idyllic paradise of exotic textures is the soundscape to carry lyrics of excitement and hope for the future. The track’s theme is delivered through the contrast of the female and male vocals, as they get ready to explore life as a couple and the prospect of travel and adventure coming back full steam ahead. WIESE says, “After a year in lockdown and finally starting to see things opening up again, the vibe I felt was uplifting, energetic and happy.”

The building tension starts from a minimal, bright synth cradling the female vocals (from Erin Jarvis), as the track layers up there is a engulfing rush of positive energy in the buildup. The chorus is a delicious burst of fresh deep-house, pop with synth vocals galore, all dancing around a highly catchy and vibrant hook. This track is the zesty summer breeze bringing in a new beginning as lockdown rules alleviate. Not only is this tune highly commercial, but it’s also super pleasing on the ears.
