After spending much of the pandemic working on a surprise new record, Twenty One Pilots on Friday released that album, Scaled and Icy.

The new album includes previously released songs "Saturday," "Choker" and lead single "Shy Away," which the duo shared earlier this year when confirming the new LP. Their single "Level of Concern," which they released last year as the result of a burst of quarantine creativity, was a standalone released and is not included on this album.

As we previously mentioned, the new record was largely written and produced by singer Tyler Joseph while in isolation, collaborating from across the country with Josh Dun, who engineered the drums for the record remotely. Because of the ongoing health crisis, the pair had to ditch their normal studio sessions while crafting the new project, which is reflective of many relatable emotions, including anxiety, loneliness and doubt.
