Michigan Rattlers might have intended to put out their new album a year ago, but after the year we've all been through, the timing seems just right.

The roots-rock outfit released their sophomore record That Kind of Life on Wednesday, and despite the pandemic-induced delay of the album and its accompanying tour, the contents of the record somehow seem increasingly timely.

"It shouldn’t have taken a pandemic to teach us how much we need other people,” says frontman Graham Young. "But I think to some extent it did. I guess this is a record about love and loss, like most records are. But even though we recorded these songs before the pandemic they feel more significant now. We can’t wait to see you guys and tell you these stories in person.”

The album includes previously released songs, such as the title track and standout single "Desert Heat," an incredible cut which appropriately serves as the album's closing track.
