Only a few weeks after releasing his last new song, newcomer Zachary Knowles dropped another new track called "slow summer" on Friday.

The breezy new track follows his recent release "city," which arrived last month, following his 2018 Feelings EP and his magnolia EP, released earlier this year. It's his latest material released on FADER Label, which is home to other Variance favorites such as Clairo, Matt and Kim, and Fractures.

The Magnolia, Texas native Knowles discovered his love of music at an early age, when his parents gifted him a light-up keyboard in first grade. "I started teaching myself songs on there, but I always kept it to myself," he recalls of his past, which evolved into a series of SoundCloud releases. "I fell in love with making music. I'd come home from school and write as much stuff as I could."
