Rising trio Moontower is back with new music.

The Southern California-based outfit on Friday released their new single called "Rerun," which at first sounds like an irresistible alt-pop tune, but it's lyrically more bittersweet, drawing inspiration from the idea of not being able to be with the person you love.

"I’m going to be spending Valentine's Day terribly lovesick," said frontman Jacob Culver ahead of the song's release. "I know for a lot of people it’s the time when life gets the darkest—feels fitting to put a track out that’s about calling out 'fake' sick from work, spending too much money on postmates, lounging around your apartment naked, and feeling sorry for yourself that you can’t be with the person you love ... There’s nothing wrong with allowing yourself to feel like this, as long as you don’t let it become your whole life."

The new song comes ahead of a busy time for the band, which is about to start a headline tour in April, with plans to put out two new EPs later this year, including collaborations from the likes of Porches, Big Data, Foreign Air and others.
