With only weeks to go until the new year, emerging artist Max Nilsson (aka Where Is Maps) is going out with a bang and perhaps getting a head start on the new year.

He shared his lush debut single "Never the Same" on Tuesday, a preview of the up-and-comer's debut EP, which is expected to arrive on Dec. 17 via boutique label Dreams Never Die.

Nilsson started his musical journey at a young age of four in Stockholm, Sweden, where he began playing piano and writing songs. He later formed an indie outfit and took on songwriting for other artists, with Where Is Maps being the solo moniker for this new chapter.

As for "Never the Same," it's an impressive entrance for a budding artist, building to a glistening finish as Where Is Maps straddles a wave of synthy production while leaning in on his magnetic vocals.
