Australia-based artist Callum Meadows (aka MDWS) is laying it bare in his new single "Fire."

The new track is a shimmering effort, an electronic R&B fusion with the singer's compelling vocals on full display. It follows the February release of his previous single "Wasted," which comes as he explores new sounds in 2019.

"I wrote 'Fire' late one night at an Airbnb when I was in Los Angeles on writing trip," says the Variance favorite, who has been drawing inspiration from the likes of Flume and Frank Ocean. "I had a lot of emotions bottled inside about a past relationship I had get out somehow, so the song contains a lot of raw emotion. One of the lines, 'Love ain’t love if you make me crawl,' paints the scene of how toxic the relationship was."

Hear "Fire" below and definitely stay tuned for more from MDWS.
