As a heat wave continued to sweep across much of the country, Chicago R&B station V103 turned up the heat over the weekend for its fourth annual Summer Block Party.

Held at the Huntington Pavilion in downtown Chicago, V103 brought together the likes of Ne-Yo, Ja Rule, Brandy, Ashanti, Keith Sweat and Tank for a blissful show backdropped by Lake Michigan.

While Brandy's performance was relatively short, Ne-Yo and Ashanti were among the night's highlights, in addition to Keith Sweat, who brought out a questionable surprise guest: R. Kelly appeared on stage unexpectedly and performed part of "Bump N' Grind."

Despite facing growing accusations of sexual coercion, misconduct and abuse, the singer still took the stage, to massive cheers from the crowd in attendance. "Chi Town, I love y'all," Kelly said as he exited.

Also, Ja Rule might have a Tommy John endorsement. But if he doesn't, they should go ahead and pay the man for rocking their gear.
