It's not everyday you get to meet the President of the United States. But when one sixth grader actually came face to face with Barack Obama on Thursday, she admitted she had wished to meet someone else: Beyoncé.

“Mr. President, when I started hearing a rumor that somebody special was coming, I really wanted it to be Beyoncé,” young Madison admitted.

“I understand,” Obama replied. “Malia and Sasha would probably feel the same way.”

Ultimately, the student said she was happy to meet the President anyway.

The President and the First Lady were visiting a Northeast D.C. school and filling backpacks with toys to give to local homeless children when the encounter took place.
