A year after the release of his latest album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, J. Cole is getting his own HBO special, the premium cable network revealed Thursday.
Titled J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming, the part-concert film, part-backstage pass documentary, described as telling the rapper's "compelling life story through Cole’s own words and music, and through the observations of those who know him best," it will premiere Jan. 9 at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.
Featuring performances of tracks “Wet Dreamz,” “A Tale of 2 Citiez,” “Fire Squad,” “No Role Modelz" and more in J. Cole's hometown of Fayetteville, N.C., Homecoming will also include guest appearances from the likes of JAY Z and Drake.
The 90-minute special will also be available to users of HBO NOW and HBO GO the day of the premiere.
