The multi-talented Mindy Kaling is on her way to having a big year. She already has one of the most buzzed-about new series coming this fall to Fox. Ironically, the show was developed for NBCUniversal--home of The Office--but Kaling's home network passed on the pilot, releasing it for Fox to snatch it up. Smooth move, NBC.

Currently titled The Mindy Project, it is produced by Universal Television and 3 Arts Entertainment, with creator--and New York Times best selling author--Kaling also serving as writer and producer. Howard Klein and B.J. Novak (of The Office) executive produced the pilot episode alongside executive producer/director Charles McDougall.

A preview of the show was released today. Watch the video here.
