It was a reunion of sorts this weekend when Kanye West returned to Miami for another installment of his Sunday Service.

Thousands of longtime fans and newly curious evangelicals gathered at the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre in downtown Miami. Of course, the timing couldn't be ignored, as the church-like event came just hours ahead of the Super Bowl, held just a few miles north.

West, who has been hosting the Sunday Services since last spring around Coachella, this time linked up with his friend Rich Wilkerson Jr., the pastor of VOUS Church in Miami. Many Ye fans will remember Wilkerson officiated West's wedding to Kim Kardashian back in 2014.

Before Wilkerson shared a brief sermon with the crowd, Ye led a choir in a performance of some of his new material from his gospel-leaning album Jesus Is King, as well a few reworked renditions of his material, such as "All Day."

Leading into the performance, West nodded to the recent passing of NBA icon Kobe Bryant. He recalled: "I asked him what he thought of this song and his only response was, 'Theme music!'"
