Newcomer Harry Gardner is releasing his new song "Oblivious" on Friday, a preview of what he's been working on for the past couple of years.

The standout new track is premiering a day early today on Variance, giving a chance for British singer to showcase his crisp, colorful pop side fused with his polished, jazz-inspired leanings. It easily puts him in a lane alongside the likes of Rex Orange County and Easy Life, as he reflects on the freedom of leaving a toxic relationship behind.

"'Oblivious' is just a really chill song about a situation I was so over," says Gardner of the Patrick J Pearson-produced track. "Looking back, I feel like this was even reflected in the writing process. I didn't really dwell on the chords or lyrics too much, I just vented and it all came together without me thinking too much into it, which is why it's a bit of a different vibe—and I kind of love that.”

The new single follows Gardner's 2018 Younger EP and it comes as he's been working on new material with plans to release more in the coming months.
