Vampire Weekend is slowly but surely taking little steps toward releasing new music.

The band this week updated its website to a clean, white background with the "Vampire Weekend" text in black, while Sony Music Entertainment's copyright and terms of service are seen at the bottom, a subtle but important change following the group's recent switch from XL to Columbia Records.

This year will actually mark five years since the release of Modern Vampires of the City, their most recent full-length. But the band has been in the studio since at least early 2016.

Frontman Ezra Koenig responded to a fan on Twitter back in September, confirming album No. 4 is "80% done." But he cautioned, "The last 20% is always the hardest."

The band's new record has been one of Variance's 45 Albums to Watch for in 2018.
