The 2016 Emmy Awards were held Sunday night in Los Angeles, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and airing live on ABC.
Early winners include repeat-honorees Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) and Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent), as well as first-timers Louie Anderson (Baskets), Kate McKinnon (also the first Saturday Night Live winner ever), Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang (Master of None).

Diversity and first-time nominees were the big winners, with Mr. Robot's Rami Malek and Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany claiming Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress wins for their critically acclaimed series. Meanwhile, Veep won Outstanding Comedy Series and Game of Thrones took Outstanding Drama Series, proving some favorites still have a lock on the big trophies.
