As festival season comes to a close, Jacob Banks performed this weekend at Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, Texas, wrapping a busy festival schedule before he heads out on his own headlining tour.

Before his performance at ACL, he stopped by to chat with Variance about his irresistible new track "Unknown (To You)," which is the lead single from his upcoming debut full-length album, expected to arrive sometime early next year.

He also talked about his decision in the "Unknown (To You)" video to confront masculine culture and some men's difficulty in showing affection or even complimenting each other because of gender stereotypes.

Banks kicks off his first headlining trek later this month in Europe before returning stateside next month for a North American run.
