Medium Build has had one incredible year as 2024 saw him release new collaborations, hit the road with the likes of Tyler Childers and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and share his debut album Country.
Speaking with Variance at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Medium Build (aka Nick Carpenter) talked about his rise, and saving parts of himself just "for me" despite the size of his crowds and fanbase growing.
Carpenter also talked about the support of his longtime home of Anchorage, Alaska, where he says he was afforded the space to grow and make music without judgment or fear of failure.
And while he has been spending much of the year on the road, including at festivals such as Lolla, Outside Lands, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits, Carpenter says he's planning to take some time off after the tour to focus on himself, rest and get back to making new music as he focuses on his next album.
