As we previously mentioned, SXSW came roaring back this year after three long, agonizing years without an in-person event.
The Austin-based festival was forced to scrap its plans for an in-person festival and conference in 2020 with just days' notice as the Covid-induced pandemic began sweeping the globe, making SXSW one of the first major events to cancel, for the first time since it began in 1987.
This year's long-awaited comeback included performances from some of our favorite artists—as well as some of our newfound faves, including Perfume Genius, Best Coast, T-Pain, T.I., Petey, Wet Leg, Maisie Peters, Pussy Riot, mehro, Jack Gray, Paris Jackson and more.
