After making his "unofficial" debut at SXSW four years ago at 21, Wiley from Atlanta made a proper debut this year, following the release of his 2021 album Kingfisher.
He talked with Variance about playing in Austin, as well as his recent momentum and the long shelf life of his breakout single "Pink Skies," and not getting tired of having a single which really connects with fans in a special way.

"If you have one song that's exponentially bigger than your other music, you can get a little fatigued from talking about it," he says. "But at the same time, it's a crazy thing to have a song that hits people like that."
He says after releasing his album last year, a record he recorded largely during quarantine, he plans to continue giving that album full promo exposing it to new fans, while also releasing much more music this year.
