It's official. After weeks of voting, our annual Song of Summer poll has closed and the results are in.

Back in June, we began asking readers for their feedback in the annual contest. Voting remained open through Friday, Aug. 7, with participants allowed to either vote for existing nominees or nominate a candidate of their own.

The ultimate victor was The Weeknd's infectious single "Can't Feel My Face," with 21% of the vote. Saint Motel's "My Type," which is perhaps the underdog in the mix, surged to No. 2 with 15%.

Meanwhile, the rest of the top five are made up of Major Lazer and DJ Snake's "Lean On," featuring MØ, at No. 3 with 11% of the vote. At No. 4 is Nicki Minaj's latest hit "The Night Is Still Young" (8%), followed by Sam Hunt's "House Party" (7%).

It's worth noting that three of our most recent Song of Summer winners went on to receive a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year: 2012's "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye and Kimbra; 2013's "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I.; and last year's "Stay with Me" by Sam Smith. "Somebody" and "Stay" both won the award.
