Matt Miggz, already a Variance favorite as one-half of the duo Yes Please, is ready to plant a flag of his own, and he's doing so today with his solo debut single "alive!," which arrived Wednesday.

The vigorous track marks a brisk yet hypnotic introduction for the artist who has previously worked with the likes of Mac Miller and Mike Dean while producing for other artists. Lately, he's been banking material of his own, and "alive!" shows us why he's definitely one to watch, with an energy that's on par with Machine Gun Kelly and Post Malone's big, stadium-level performances while hinting at genre-bending influences easily sharing a lane with such acts as Kevin Abstract, Duckwrth or JPEGMAFIA.

Co-produced by Miggz and Brenton Duvall, the two-minute cut is our latest "Big Obsession" selection. And sure, it's short, but it plays easily on repeat. And we're definitely guilty of doing so. So have it, and definitely stay tuned for more from Miggz.

Hear "alive!" now.
