MØ isn't waiting for Friday. The Danish pop artist on Thursday released a surprise EP called When I Was Young.

The singer had been teasing new music this week, but it had seemed she was hinting at just a new single. This is her first project since her 2014 album No Mythologies To Follow, although she has released a number of singles since then, including "Nights with You" and Snakehips collaboration "Don't Leave," both of which arrived earlier this year.

"Making the EP has been such a nice flashback experience because I forgot about the little things," she said about the new music. "How you put the songs together, the lyrics, the song titles and the artwork. Just being in the bubble of that energy is so fucking awesome. It’s so amazing to be able to create a universe. These years have been a learning process about what's important, and that’s what this EP reflects. These songs were chosen instinctively, and by a gut feeling really, but they’re all about both looking back and forward.”

The six-song EP can be heard below.
