Jessie Ware has returned.
The singer on Thursday released her simmering new single "Midnight," which she had teased in recent days.
According to the singer, the track is the first preview of a new album, her followup to Tough Love, which was one of Variance's 50 Best Albums of 2014. It will feature collaborations with the likes of Francis and the Lights, Ryan Tedder, Ed Sheeran, Cashmere Cat, Julia Michaels and Benny Blanco.
Premiering the song today on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show, Ware told the radio host she credited Blanco with giving her the necessary, honest feedback to land at her new material, after having spent time working on music he called "rubbish."
"I really value his opinion. He's a hitmaker," she said of Blanco. "He makes pop music. And I thought I was making pop music. And he was like, 'This is just rubbish.' So, thank God for Benny."
While the full album is expected later this year, "Midnight" can be heard below.
