The year of SZA continues.
The singer's debut album Ctrl has officially been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, which has confirmed the critically acclaimed record, which was Variance's 2017 Album of the Year, has surpassed the million mark in sales.
In addition to the album's achievement, singles "Love Galore," featuring Travis Scott, and "The Weekend" have both gone double-platinum, while "Garden (Say It Like Dat)" and "Broken Clocks" have been certified gold, SZA's label Top Dawg Entertainment confirmed on Thursday afternoon.
As we previously mentioned, former president Barack Obama included "Broken Clocks" on his 2017 year-end favorites playlist.
The news also follows SZA's big impression at the 2018 Grammy Awards, where she was up for five awards. While she didn't walk away with any trophies at the ceremony, her performance was one of the most celebrated, only further cementing her status as one of music's newest stars.
On top of all her solo activity, SZA also contributed to the newly No. 1 Black Panther soundtrack. And she's going on tour this May with label mates Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock and more.
Everyone congratulate the queen @SZA! Her debut album #Ctrl is now certified PLATINUM by the @RIAA! #LoveGalore x #TheWeekend are 2x 💿💿 each + #BrokenClocks x #Garden are gold! 📀📀 #Ctrl #TDE https://t.co/2gRSbOn3lK pic.twitter.com/z4a6VdFh4q
