Newcomer COTIS is making quite an entrance Tuesday with his debut single "Phone Light Up," which arrived today.

The addictive, hip-hop pop cut is brimming with big energy, almost instantly promising the Victoria, BC, artist as a future star. Like another Canadian emcee who is now a household name, COTIS seems to flow effortlessly between crisp bars and rich, emotive verses.

It may only be his first release, but he has more on the way, so it's definitely advisable to keep watching in the coming months.
