Here's a mid-week treat by way of British newcomer DWY.

The South London-based artist dropped his debut single "Over You" on Wednesday. And it's quite simply perfect. Clocking in right at three minutes, it's a tender, emotional listen, with Sampha-esque vocals fused with delicate production.

"I wrote 'Over You' about every relationship I’ve been in whilst I was a struggling artist and the person didn’t get it and couldn’t see where I was going," DWY says of the track. "The line 'drove down the street in your yellow Bugatti, splashed me with a puddle as you left in a hurry' is about you know the person chasing what they felt success looked like and leaving me behind in the process."

DWY (pronounced "dew-wee") counts Frank Ocean and Kanye West among his inspirations, saying Ye's 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak "changed my life and made me want to be an artist."

The singer has definitely been spending plenty of time in the studio recently, hinting at plenty more music on the way. In fact, "Over You" is a preview of his upcoming debut EP.
