The Shins on Thursday released a new single called "Name for You," confirming their new album Heartworms will arrive on March 10 via Aural Apothecary/Columbia Records.

Unlike on 2012's Port of Morrow, ringleader James Mercer wrote the entire album himself and also produced the full record minus "So Now What," which was produced by Richard Swift. The album includes "Name for You" as well as the band's previously released cut "Dead Alive."

The new record—Mercer's fifth under the Shins moniker—is said to include his "most diverse lyrical palette." One track, "Mildenhall," is expected to be largely autobiographical and the aforementioned "Name for You" is described as an anthem of female empowerment inspired by Mercer's three daughters.

Heartworms has long been in the works but, as we previously mentioned, Mercer had said back in August the album release had been delayed for better festival opportunities. It was one of Variance's 50 Albums to Watch for in 2017

The Shins will also support the new album with a world tour. The full schedule has yet to be announced, but a first string of dates will go on sale next Friday (Jan. 13).
