After recently performing her new song "Thick of It," Mary J. Blige has shared the official studio version of the breakup track.

“I was there when no one wanted to stay with you, baby,” she sings on the cut, which distinctly references her divorce earlier this year from longtime husband Kendu Isaacs. “You know I deserve all of this / Yes, I do / So tell me, who’s gonna love you like I do?”

In a recent interview, Blige spoke candidly about how her personal life was influencing her music. “If you know me, you know what I’m dealing with right now,” she said. "It’s the heaviness of it and the whole thing ... I’m in the middle of a divorce and it doesn’t feel good. It feels terrible, but I have strength to get through and I get through by any means necessary."

"Thick of It" is a preview of Blige's upcoming album, Strength of a Woman, which she has previously said will also include a collaboration with Kanye West.
