A new U2 album may arrive sooner rather than later, according to bassist Adam Clayton, who has revealed he expects the band to be finished with their latest effort—a 12-song LP—within the next month.
"We’re in the studio," Clayton told Irish radio station 98 FM. "We’re trying to get these 12 songs absolutely right and get them finished by the end of November, and then we can kind of enjoy Christmas."
Clayton described the new material as "a bit of a return to U2 of old, but with the maturity, if you like, of the U2 of the last 10 years ... It’s a combination of those two things and it’s a really interesting hybrid."
The band was spotted earlier this year in the studio with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and the band has spent time recording at Electric Lady Studios with Danger Mouse, who has previously been revealed the the album's producer.
