Only six weeks after its release, Drake's Nothing Was the Same has reached the platinum mark with sales exceeding 1 million copies.
The album, which released on Sept. 24 with 658,000 in its first week, saw the second-highest debut of the year (for now). And although the final numbers from Nielsen SoundScan aren't due until Wednesday, early projections show the album moved more than 38,000 copies this past week, enough to more than surpass the million mark.
Update (11.06.13): With 38,000 copies sold this past week, NWTS now stands at 1,029,000 sold, according to Billboard. It is only the second rap album released this year to reach the mark. (Macklemore and Kendrick Lamar have both done so with their 2012 releases.)
