The Neighbourhood announced on Thursday that they are "parting ways" with drummer Bryan “Olivver” Sammis.

In a Tumblr post, the band said: "We’ll miss playing music together but wish him the best on his musical journey ahead. We see all the good (via social networks) that the band and the individual members bring into people’s lives. We hope this doesn’t change any of that for you guys. We thank you guys for all the support you’ve given us."

Sammis, who had tweeted on Wednesday to "do what makes you happy," also wrote on his own Tumblr: "Now You Know. I’ve got your back. I will continue to make music. I have already started. I’m so grateful for anyone who has ever supported me, I hope your support for my endeavors continue."

While the other members of the band expressed their own sentiments on social media, frontman Jesse Rutherford took to Twitter and explained his "lack of words about today's news," saying that he's "been in the studio all day putting every percentage of attention & energy into this new music." The band is currently working on another album.
