Pope Francis arrived in the U.S. on Tuesday afternoon, welcomed by hundreds, including President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and their families, church leaders, school children and a high school band performing hit songs.
According to a report from CNN's Jim Sciutto, the band's playlist consisted of Pharrell's "Happy," Coldplay's "Clocks" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," among other popular and notedly optimistic tracks.
The Pope is in the States for a six-day visit, including stops in Washington, D.C., New York and Philadelphia, where he is expected to meet with the President, U.S. elected officials, world leaders and American citizens.
This is Pope Francis' first visit to America and he is only the third pontiff to make the trip to Washington.
