Smashing Pumpkins will release their latest album, Monuments to an Elegy, this December, and to celebrate, Billy Corgan and Co. have shared the set's first single.

“Being Beige” precedes the full record, which will arrive Dec. 9.

According to Corgan, the new album is the first of a pair coming over the next year, as Day for Night will follow sometime next year.

Regarding the new song, Corgan told Rolling Stone: "People always ask me to explain songs, and honestly I can't. But if there's honesty in this lyric, it's that there's something amiss in our cosmos. Yet still, we must love."
