Grimes is planning to release her new album later this year, she confirmed Wednesday night on Twitter.

Responding to a fan's tweet about the six-year anniversary of her LP Visions, the singer-producer responded, "3 albums in 6 years is not a bad level of productivity," assuring followers a new one is indeed on the way. She further explained she hoped it would be a spring release but cautioned, "realistically," it would be the fall.

Grimes' upcoming record has been one of Variance's 45 Albums to Watch for in 2018. In December she revealed, also on Twitter, she had recently played new music for her label and they loved it. So if all goes as planned, fans should hear the new material "soon," she promised.

This past November parked two year's since Grimes released her last album, 2015's Art Angels.
