New Orleans alt-rockers MUTEMATH have unveiled a new single "Monument," the first official preview off their upcoming album Vitals, which is expected later this fall.
"Monument" debuted Tuesday on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show. And like the album, it borrows inspiration from the likes of Steely Dan and The Police, with distinct electronic sounds that may remind longtime fans of their band's earlier material.
"A monument usually signifies a memorialization for what is no more," frontman Paul Meany said of the track. "This song is about taking control of the moments we still have, while we still have them together. The threat of an ending is nothing to be afraid of, but something that can be turned into beauty and serve as a vibrant means to keep moving forward."
As we previously mentioned, MUTEMATH will kick off a fall, which is entirely sold out, on Sept. 16, in Minneapolis.
