Nine months after the release of their latest album What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World, The Decemberists on Friday shared a brand new track "Why Would I Now?."

The song is from the Portland outfit's upcoming florasongs EP, which will be released on Oct. 9, the band also announced Friday.

It's a collection of five songs recorded during their last album sessions which didn't fit the record.
