Tulsa's MORE&MORE is back with new music today. But it's also the start of a very different chapter for the act, which had previously been a band and is now a solo endeavor by frontman Brady Ballew.

Coinciding with today's release of the sun-drenched new song "Can't You See That I Tried?," the singer says he's "nervous [and] excited" about going down this new lane. Last month, he shared on social media he had spent much of the winter "writing and recording new songs" and plans to release a new EP soon.

"I had the line, 'Oh baby I wanna play you the album,' and some chords. That was it," says Ballew of the song, which was co-produced by Sam Westhoff and Christian Theriot. "I was pretty surprised how much everyone in the room took to this little idea I had brought into the studio. Two hours later, we had the whole song buttoned up. Some songs you spend months on, some songs you spend an afternoon on. Music is crazy."

On the new song, Ballew is embracing a playful sound with hints of fellow Variance favorites such as Steve Lacy, Aaron Taos and Coast Modern. We can't wait to hear what's next!
